A portrait of the migrant camp and associated activities at Calais, France. 27/28 August 2016.
Nearly 10,000 people live in the migrant camp known as The Jungle. They face daily challenges that are almost impossible to describe. For all that, a remarkably cohesive society exists in the Jungle. There is humour and beauty to be found in the grimmest corners. The refugees are supported by entirely voluntary organisations who work tirelessly to feed, clothe and meet their medical and social needs. Please support their work.
